Blogging Business: Update

Posted by Picasa

Coming soon to a card holder near you! Next week, my card holder won't have blanks in it. Kirk Baxter of Designage and I met this week to decide on the final design of the business card for The Bunny Bungalow Blog. Kirk did a fantastic job on the design. Next, the printer will print the cards. The card will be adorable! I can't wait to show you. (Remember? In a previous blog I pointed out that when a woman reaches a certain age there are two things she can do again: wear pink and be silly.)

Pepper, Kirk's house bunny also attended the meeting. She is a beautiful, black lop-eared bunny. Kirk says he's going to "put her to answering the phone" at Designage.

Photocraft

"Photocraft" by Caroline Herter, Laurie Frankel & Laura Lovett;
Bulfinch Press

Here's a book every blogger will want. It shows you how to do over forty chic projects using the photos you love. The authors also cover the technical aspects of the digital world in a chapter titled, "Photocraft 101." They also give your great resources: from photographic equipment, to fonts, to vintage Victorian images, etc.

My favorite of their projects is a vinyl shower curtain with a life size photo of Laurie's two sons playing in an old washtub. I'll refrain from showing that to you, as I want you to get the book and see it for yourself. It's a knock-out idea.

I showed the photo of the shower curtain to Tall Husband, "I was thinking that you could stand in the clawfoot tub at The Bunny Bungalow and I'll photograph you. The shower curtain would look great on the old clawfoot."

"I won't do it! Because then you would put it on the Internet. How about if we put your little fat ass on the shower curtain?"

I guess that's a "no"- for now.

Blogging Business

Kirk Baxter's Designage Card
(Click on photo to enlarge.)

Recently I met with Kirk Baxter, owner of Designage here in Houston. Kirk will be designing a blog card for The Bunny Bungalow. He understands all things bunny as he has always had house rabbits. He currently lives with Pepper, a two-year-old black rabbit. The day of our appointment, Pepper was hiding out so I did not get to meet her. Perhaps at our next meeting she will make an appearance.

Can't wait to see what Kirk and Pepper come up with for the design!
