Magnolia Pearl

Magnolia Pearl at Marburger Farm Antique Show in Round Top, Texas.

Tall Husband and I headed toward Round Top last Saturday. Round Top is a tiny little town in the picturesque Hill Country of Texas about ninety miles from The Bunny Bungalow. This wide spot in the road is the world mecca of antiques two times each year, when the population swells from 77 to that of a good-sized city. This was our first time to attend a Round Top show, so we decided to concentrate on one venue, Marburger Farm Antique Show.

One of the most wonderful vendors at the show is Magnolia Pearl, a clothing company out of Bandera, Texas. Asked what style their clothes are, Pearl will tell you, "Victorian Funk." When I was in the dressing room trying on a white pair of pantaloons with a matching top, I couldn't suppress a giggle when I saw myself in the mirror; I was covered with hay, as the dressing-room chair was a bail of hay and the floor was carpeted with loose hay. We have a saying in Texas, "A roll in the hay," which means...well you figure it out.

I came home with some of that gauzy white Victorian Funk and it makes me feel like a girl again. Magnolia Pearl's things are pure Hill Country magic. When I put them on, I can hear the mandolins and the call of the haystack.

Note: More about the Round Top Antique Show later.

A Surprise at The Bunny Bungalow

When we arrived at The Bunny Bungalow, there underneath the mail slot was a most wonderful surprise, a little bunny and her mommy.

Everyone wanted to meet the new arrivals. There was also an envelope addressed to "Annie" in a most wonderful hand. Inside there was a note that said, "Made with love for Annie..." It's from Little One and her Mommy over at Home in the Heights!

Now, Baby Bunny and Mommy Bunny live at The Bunny Bungalow and blog all day, as you can see. Guess which blog is their favorite! That's right. They love to read about the adventures of Little One and her Mommy and her Daddy.

Thank you, Little One and Mommy, for the wonderful new bunnies!  I shall make certain that they have a happy and interesting home.

Morning Glory!

Morning, Glory! Hope you're having a glorious weekend.

Here at the Bunny Bungalow, Tall Husband is planting our Blue Plumbago in the ground (photo above). It has been living in a large pot for two years. Now it will be growing and blooming next to my hammock, under two giant trees.

Well, I've got to go drag my hammock and a stack of magazines outside, as it is a beautiful sunny day in Houston. Can't waste a Blue Plumbago!

World Autism Awareness Day

Today, April 2,  2009, is World Autism Awareness Day.  Visit Autism Speaks to learn about legislation, research, treatment and general information related to Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Wish I'd Brought a Magazine

Posted by Picasa

I'll be away from my computer today and tomorrow, as I will be at a seminar for therapists. The subject, Autism Spectrum Disorder, is within my area of specialization. So, hopefully it will be interesting and I won't be wishing the same thing that little guy on my coffee mug is wishing... wish I'd brought a magazine.

Update 4/2/09, P.M. I don't need a magazine.  The seminar is great!
