It is with great sadness that we in the blogesphere learn, from Rachel Ashwell herself, that Shabby Chic filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last Thursday. We know that Rachel and her company will make it through this economic down turn, while being an inspiration to us all. Meanwhile, Rachel, we send our heartfelt support and offer the proverbial shoulder for you and yours to lean on.
Oh dear, I did not know this :( Everything from magazines, to stores are shutting down, and it is starting to depress me. Just the other day walking around my town, there is a holistic pharmacy called "elephant farm," closed it's doors, then a long standing Hallmark store closed. This is bad, since the town I live in is quite affluent. Sure says a lot.
ReplyDeleteI'm still reeling from the Atlanta store closing on Valentine's Day, and now this. I really wanted to purchase some of her linens, but I just couldn't afford the prices. I finally got 3 euro shams on sale.
